J. J. Hahn is the primary documented candidate for the ancestor of this quote — not the Feynman wording itself. On 16 January 1995, Hahn posted the aphorism “Philosophy is questions that may never be answered. Religion is answers that may never be questioned” in a Usenet signature block. Quote Investigator conjectures the tidier, Feynman-branded version evolved anonymously from this line years later. Hahn may himself have been repeating something already circulating.
