Louis-Charles Jourdan

1810–1881 · French journalist for Le Siècle

Jourdan was a Toulon-born journalist aligned with Saint-Simonian and phalansterian circles who became one of the most-read contributors to the Parisian daily Le Siècle from 1849 onward. He was briefly imprisoned in 1851 for an article criticizing Louis-Napoléon’s government before returning to a long career in the French press.
