Sylvia Plath

Sylvia Plath was an American poet, novelist, and short-story writer, a leading figure of the confessional-poetry movement. Her semi-autobiographical novel The Bell Jar (1963) and the posthumous collection Ariel (1965) made her one of the most widely read writers of the twentieth century. She died in London in 1963; her Collected Poems won the Pulitzer Prize in 1982.
