Vicki Corona is an American dance instructor and prolific author of instructional booklets on Polynesian, Middle Eastern and folk dance, published through her own Dance Fantasy Productions imprint. Her titles include Learn Tahitian Dance, Exotic Dances of Tonga and Folk Dances of the Philippines — and the 1989 booklet Tahitian Choreographies, which carries the earliest printing of this saying anyone has yet found. She is an unlikely candidate for one of the internet's most-shared aphorisms, which is precisely why the line kept getting reassigned to famous names instead.
