Willa Cather

1873–1947 · American novelist & Pulitzer winner

Willa Cather (1873–1947) was an American writer celebrated for her novels of frontier and immigrant life on the Great Plains, among them O Pioneers!, The Song of the Lark and My Ántonia. She won the 1923 Pulitzer Prize for One of Ours. She held this passage close enough that a fragment of it is carved on her gravestone in Jaffrey, New Hampshire.
