The words are Emmett F. Fields’s, from Atheism: An Affirmative View — a talk he delivered at the Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, on Sunday 19 October 1980, published the following summer in the July–August 1981 American Rationalist and sold as a pamphlet afterwards.
