This is Analects 1.1 — the opening sentence of the entire book, 學而時習之,不亦說乎, recorded as the words of “the Master” by Confucius’s disciples. The English you see quoted, however, is not ancient: it matches A. Charles Muller’s translation ↗, which he dates to the summer of 1990.
