Anne Rice

Anne Rice (born Howard Allen Frances O’Brien in New Orleans, 4 October 1941; died 11 December 2021) was an American author of Gothic fiction, erotic literature and Bible fiction, best known for Interview with the Vampire and the rest of The Vampire Chronicles. She wrote occasional forewords and introductions to other writers’ books, including a 1995 Schocken Books edition of Kafka’s stories. It is that foreword — not any novel — that produced the sentence the internet spent years crediting to Kafka.
