Trent Reznor

Trent Reznor (b. 1965) is the sole writer of ‘Hurt’ and the whole of Nine Inch Nails. After seeing Cash’s video he said the song no longer felt like his — a generous, unusual thing for a writer to say, and part of why his authorship has been so thoroughly eclipsed by the cover he admired.
