Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today
Malcolm X did say a sentence almost exactly like this — aloud, in public, on 28 June 1964, reading the new Organization of Afro-American Unity’s “Basic Aims and Objectives” at its founding rally. But the transcript reads “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs only to the people who prepare for it today.” The familiar “the passport … those who prepare” form is a smoothed variant that no primary source pins to him.
